Learn French
Levels SK to Grade 6
Offered for students in SK to grade 6. This series of classes is intended for students not in French Immersion. The student enters based on their French and/or grade level to attend classes that would reflect their experience in Core French in the school system.
Each learn French Class comes with a study guide, so that you can continue learning French on your own!
In order to ensure that your child is registered in the right level, they must first take our placement assessment.
Please begin with Section 1 of the assessment here, after taking the assessment, depending on your score, you will receive a placement recommendation or a second assessment to complete, to better understand your level.
Level 1
This level is for students completely new to French. In this level, students will learn the basics of French communication. Every lesson, students will learn new vocabulary and use it in different learning situations. They will learn how to read basic sentences connected to the theme explored in class. They will also have opportunities to practice basic oral interaction skills through games, songs and simple conversations.

Level 2
In this level, students will learn new vocabulary and use it in different learning situations. They will learn how to read short texts connected to the themes explored in class. They will the have opportunity to practice speaking through games, conversations and project presentations. Students will also practice verbs at the simple present and incorporate them in different activities (speaking and writing).

Level 3
In level 3, students will learn vocabulary and use it in different learning situations.They will learn how to read stories connected to the theme explored in class.
They will have the opportunity to practice speaking through games, conversations and project presentations. Students will also practice various grammatical concepts and practice them with the incorporation of different class activities.

Level 4
Level 4 students will continue to build on their vocabulary and use it in different learning situations. In addition to the skills being worked on in level 3, they will now be able to write and read more complex sentences and make connections between previous concepts and the new themes taught in class. They will also practice various grammatical concepts and practice them in different activities (reading, speaking and writing).

Level 5
Level 5 students will practice reading stories connected to the themes explored in class.
They will have the opportunity to practice speaking through games, conversations and project presentations. Level 5 students will practice writing short paragraphs and make connections between previous concepts as well as the new themes taught in class. They will also practice more nuanced grammatical concepts and practice them through reading, speaking and writing activities.

Level 6
In level 6, students will reinvest the knowledge they have acquired in the previous levels in more complex situations and topics.They will continue to read stories connected to the themes explored in class.
They will also have opportunities to practice speaking in detail about various topics connected to their interests. They will continue to refine their writing with short paragraphs and make connections between previous concepts as well as the new themes taught in class. They will also practice the present, the past and the future tenses through exercises and games.

Yes! All of our classes are held virtually so anybody can join from anywhere in the world!
Our classes are divided by age and grade. We currently offer French Immersion virtual classes for children ages 6 to 12! If your child is older than 12, check out our Senior Academy designed for Grades 6 to 12!

For Virtual Classes:
- There will be an administration fee of 15% of the fee for the session per student withheld on all refunds.
- Refunds for the registration fees are only issued for cancellations submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to the beginning of the courses.
